Tool #3: Finding Online Video and Image Resources

I have been able to find excellent YouTube videos to on Physics to share with my students as well as videos that I have been able to use to deepen my content knowledge.  I am so glad the district opened up access to YouTube.  I have used a YouTube video the first week of school to motivate my students.  Check it out below.

Here is another YouTube video I plan to use in my physics class to demonstrate to my students how you can use physics to make a positive impact in the world.

I already have a DropBox account.  I use it to collaborate with other AP Physics teachers to exchange lessons, exams, labs and worksheets.

I am glad to know that there are copy right exceptions to teachers under the fair use in the US Copy Right Law that makes our job easier.

  2. I love that we can use YouTube videos during our instruction time here at Memorial! I think it really broadens the students knowledge of what YouTube can be used for. A lot of the time, students go on YouTube just for fun to watch silly videos. Now, they can start to understand that it can be used for learning/ educational purposes too. This is especially useful in my dance classes! Being able to watch different dance performances really allows the students to visually see what a particular genre should end up looking like.
